Christopher Tessla Petition
My name is Christopher Tessla and I am an Actor. I have been an actor for the last 20 years. Right now you're probably thinking, "WOW," 20 years and you still haven't made it? You see, I have been in and out of the industry over that time and like most actors, real life has gotten in the way of my dream.
Recently an amazing opportunity has presented itself. They are about to start production on Die Hard Year One, or what is being called Die Hard 6. They are looking to cast an unknown actor in the role of a young John McClane. It is set to take place roughly 9 years before the original Die Hard. In a recent interview Len Wiseman was quoted as saying the following:
“It has to be somebody that has the swagger and the confidence, but also the charm, the wit, the charisma and the toughness. It’s asking a lot, especially in somebody that’s younger. It has to feel like the guy owns it, rather than is trying to put it on.”-Len Wiseman
I grew up in North Jersey in a blue collar, truck driving family business. Nothing says Jersey more than this. As far as training is concerned, I attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC as well as Montclair State University where I majored in a BFA in theater. Coincidentally, Bruce Willis also attended Montclair State and majored in theater. I’m not asking to replace Bruce Willis, or play Bruce Willis. I’m just asking for a chance to audition to play John McClane. Being an unknown actor means that the audience does not look at me and see any other previous characters. In essence, I'm a blank slate! I feel that I know this character because, I grew up as this guy. A sarcastic blue collar guy who is just trying to get ahead.
As an actor it's almost impossible to get in the door for a role such as this without a name and substantial resume. While I am in SAG-AFTRA and I do have an agent, it’s still incredibly difficult. I’m asking for your support and help. By signing this petition, you can help give an unknown, underdog actor a chance! If you would like to see a sample of a reel with footage of what a young John McClane might look like, you can find it here.
Thank you once again for your support!
